Library ScienceThe Masters of Science in Library Science (MSLS) program at Clarion University of Pennsylvania was initiated in 1967. It was the first graduate library science program offered within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The program has been accredited by the American Library Association since 1976 and is one of only three such programs in Pennsylvania. The MSLS program provides professional study encompassing the principles and techniques common to all type of libraries and information centers with the opportunity for advanced work in areas of special interest. The curriculum reflects today's applications of information technology in libraries and information centers. The 12-course program equips graduates to work as professional librarians in a variety of settings, including school, public, academic, and specialized (law school, corporate, etc.) libraries.
